Is That Going to Last?
Sometimes a Home Warranty is included in the sale of a
home. Other times the seller is willing to pay for one if
the buyer asks. If you are trying to decide whether to
include a home warranty in the sale of your home, or you
are a buyer who is confronted with the decision of whether
or not to buy a home warranty, the following information
from the National Association of Home Builders may come in
handy. These numbers represent the maximum number of years
you can reasonably expect various components of your home
to last, as determined by a comprehensive survey of
manufacturers, trade associations and researchers. Please
note that life expectancy may vary greatly depending on
quality of material, installation, maintenance,
environmental factors and use.
